EU and competition
Much of the new legislation affecting our clients in the areas of intellectual property, technology regulation and consumer law originates in Brussels. We are happy to assist our clients with interpreting new legislation and guidance in these and other areas of law.
In the area of competition law, the main area in which we get involved is the application of Article 81 of the EC Treaty to commercial agreements. We have experience of assisting our clients in this area, including drafting agreements that are designed to fit within a block exemption regulation (eg the Technology Transfer Regulation or the R&D Agreements Regulation).
